OCSO General Order 2.06
It is the policy of the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office to patrol in a proactive manner, to aggressively investigate suspicious persons and circumstances, and to actively enforce motor vehicle laws, while insisting that citizens will only be stopped or detained when there exists reasonable suspicion to believe they have committed, are committing, or are about to commit, an infraction of the law. Members will not engage in the practice of bias-based profiling. Citizens are guaranteed equal protection under the law and the right to be free from unreasonable searches and seizures. Sworn members of the Agency will carry out their enforcement responsibilities in a manner that respects these rights and upholds the dignity of all persons.
