Two Fort Walton Beach area residents died in a traffic accident that took place around 2:20 p.m. on Highway 98 in Destin Thursday. A 2009 Nissan Altima was making a left turn onto Henderson Beach Rd. from U.S. 98 and crossed into the path of a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado which was traveling westbound. The 57 year old female driver of the Nissan Altima was air lifted, but was pronounced upon arrival at FWBMC. The 33 year old male passenger of the Altima was pronounced at the scene. The 18 year old driver of the Chevrolet Silverado sustained non-incapacitating injuries. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor at this time. The crash remains under investigation by the Traffic Homicide Investigation team.
