The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office has charged three Fort Walton Beach area teens in connection with an SUV stolen from outside a Destin home.
18-year old Donald Gates, 18-year old Jaheim Stanley, and 16-year old Timothy Wright are each charged with a count of grand theft of a motor vehicle.
The 2017 Nissan Armada had been reported stolen from a home on Laurent Court in Destin yesterday.
An OCSO deputy doing patrols in the area of James Lee Boulevard and Gerold Street in the Fort Walton Beach area later spotted the car and noticed Wright inside the vehicle.
A short time later the Nissan was found abandoned at 616 Gap Creek Drive. Deputies located Gates, Stanley and Wright nearby. Gates admitted stealing the car. Stanley and Wright admitted being aware it was stolen.
