(Christian Pickett charged as Fugitive from Covington, Co. Alabama)
Investigators with the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office are working to piece together an early morning shooting that injured two people outside Bric a Brac nightspot in Destin.
Deputies were called to the 824 Highway 98 address around 4:18 a.m. A disturbance at closing time led to multiple shots being fired outside the establishment and people fleeing. Deputies immediately worked to set up a perimeter and brought in a K9 to assist with tracking.
Trevor Thomas of Crestview and Raheem Phillips of DeFuniak Springs were taken to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center for treatment after suffering apparent non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.
A person of interest in the investigation, 29-year old Christian Pickett of Crestview, was detained for questioning. He is currently charged as a fugitive from Covington County Alabama. During the course of the investigation, OCSO deputies learned Pickett has an active warrant there for violating probation on an original charge of possession of a firearm with an altered I.D.
