Sgt. David Allen reappointment to SWAT panel Nov 2015

Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant David Allen has been re-elected to the five-member Board of Directors of the Florida SWAT Association, a non-profit organization that provides training opportunities and consultation to SWAT Team members across the state.

The two-year assignment puts Sgt. Allen in charge of training and developing new training curriculum for SWAT. His primary function will be serving as the liaison for all of the Regional Representatives for the Florida SWAT Association who are located throughout the state of Florida. At this year’s International SWAT Round-up Sgt. Allen presented the SWAT Officer and SWAT Medic of the Year awards. He also spoke on the leadership role of SWAT members within their agencies and the importance of maintaining a positive image to the public.

According to the organization’s website: “The Florida SWAT Association is dedicated to those professionals operating in the tactical communities of law enforcement and the military. Although members are predominately Florida based law enforcement officers, the Florida SWAT Association is open to all officers that respond to and resolve critical incidents, as well as those individuals who provide direct support for those officers. The Florida SWAT Association promotes high quality education and networking within the tactical community. The Florida SWAT Association achieves this through a wide ranging training calendar, a quarterly magazine, and several Florida SWAT sponsored annual events/competitions.”
