ROBINSON ARREST REPORT

Home video surveillance, social media, and a vigilant citizen helped catch a burglary suspect who broke into a Fort Walton Beach area home July 3rd. A second suspect who has yet to be identified was captured on camera as well.

The Estival Street victims of a burglary posted video and pictures to their Facebook page. Thursday, a citizen at the Fort Walton Beach Walmart spotted the individual shown on the video standing at a self-check-out counter and called 9-1-1.

Okaloosa County Sheriff’s office Deputies arrived and made contact with 36-year old Charles Robinson, who was wearing the same wrist guard, necklace, baseball cap and sunglasses, and had the same tattoos, as seen in the burglary video. They also found he had plastic jeweler’s baggies containing heroin, and a dollar bill with heroin residue.

Robinson attempted to run but was quickly taken into custody. He is charged with burglary, possession of a controlled substance, and resisting arrest without violence.

The investigation is ongoing. The OCSO is also seeking the identity of a second individual who entered the house briefly prior to Robinson’s exit.

Anyone with information is asked to call the OCSO at 850-651-7400 or Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers: 850-863-TIPS, emeraldcoastcrimestoppers.com, or by texting the P3 Tips mobile application.
