Four Teens Charged in Rash of Car Burglaries

Four teens face multiple felonies in connection with a string of car break-ins August 26th.

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office received a call of someone observing four males burglarizing vehicles in the parking lot of Norwood Court apartments around 3:38 a.m. One was described as wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt. An OCSO deputy who responded spotted four teens in the area, including one wearing a gray hoodie. Initially the four refused to stop walking, but when they finally did, he noticed a window punch tool in the teen’s gray hoodie pocket.

15-year old Javaughn Bryant of Shalimar was charged with burglary, theft, criminal mischief and violation of curfew in connection with four car burglaries on Norwood Court and Pine Street.

15-year old Jeremiah Ford of Fort Walton Beach is also charged with burglaries, petty theft, and criminal mischief, along with 18 year old Mario Lee Junior of Crestview. Lee faces an additional charge of possession of a drug without a prescription.

14-year old Marquette Lewis of Crestview was arrested for burglaries, larceny, criminal mischief and violation of curfew.

It was the OCSO’s fifth arrest of Lewis since charges of grand theft of a firearm and resisting arrest were filed in January 2019. Other felony arrests include threat to a public official in February 2019, attempted burglary and resisting arrest with violence in May 2019, carrying a concealed weapon, felony violation of probation, unlawful possession of a firearm, armed burglary, and theft of a firearm in July 2019.
