TOUCHSTONE ARREST REPORT

“If you see something, say something” is the common law enforcement mantra – and a Niceville area resident who did just that helped the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office nab an armed burglar who now faces four felony charges.

The OCSO responded to someone calling in a report of a “suspicious person” wearing a gray and red hoodie and carrying a flashlight and gas can on Lost Horse Circle around 5 a.m. this morning.

Deputies immediately began canvassing the area and soon got another tip from a passing motorist that the suspicious man was at 4243 Lost Horse Circle. That’s where they found 18-year old Tyler Touchstone of Fort Walton Beach, partially inside a silver car. During a search they found a 9mm Beretta pistol in Touchstone’s right pocket. He also had a flashlight, a multi tool with what appeared to be a glass punch, and a bandanna around his neck in a way that could be used to cover his face.

Touchstone is charged with armed burglary, carrying a concealed firearm, use of a weapon during commission of a felony, and possession of burglary tools.

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office wants to thank those who provided information that helped lead to the arrest. For safety reasons, residents are advised to always report suspicious behavior or activity to law enforcement. Do not attempt to approach or confront a suspicious individual.
