FREEMAN ARREST REPORT

An Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office deputy was forced off the road to avoid a head-on collision and the driver of the other vehicle has been charged with DUI and child neglect.

The OCSO supervisor was driving west on Airport Road near the intersection with Wayne Rogers Road around 4:30 October 10th when a green pickup truck heading the opposite direction crossed over into his lane. He went off the roadway but says the other driver took no action to avoid a crash, instead continuing eastbound in the westbound land for a short distance before getting over.

When the deputy conducted a traffic stop, he could smell alcohol and noticed the driver, identified as 32-year old Felicia Freeman of Baker, appeared impaired. Following field sobriety tests she was arrested for DUI.

Two juveniles were in her truck, including an unbuckled seven year old riding in a folded lawn chair between the front passenger seat and driver’s seat.

Freeman was also charged with child neglect.

She later provided a breath sample indicating a blood alcohol level of 0.15, nearly twice the legal limit.
