Two men and their Labrador retriever survived without a scratch after their small aircraft reportedly developed engine problems and went down in a tree short of the Destin Airport runway this morning.
First responders were called to a home on Planet Drive in Destin just after 10 a.m.
Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies on scene say the plane had been coming in to land when it struck a tree near a home and became wedged.
The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board have been notified and will be handling the investigation.
