ARREST REPORT
A 14-year old Ruckel Middle School student is charged with carrying a concealed firearm and possession of a firearm on school property after the School Resource Officer and a supervisor from the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Youth Services Division located the weapon in his backpack.
Contact was made with the Niceville teen in his classroom after it was learned he may have been involved in the armed robbery of another teen Monday night in Shalimar.
He was escorted out of the classroom and a pat down was done. The student was informed that the OCSO had information he may be in possession of a firearm. He told them it was in his back pack.
The back pack was located and secured and a .38 Special revolver loaded with five rounds of ammunition was found inside.
Deputies say there was no evidence to indicate the student had displayed the weapon or used it to threaten anyone at school.
The investigation into the armed robbery is ongoing.
