Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to calls Sunday night of someone shooting dozens of rounds in the Marler Street/Shirley Drive area off Lovejoy Road shortly before 7 p.m.
Witnesses also reported seeing people dressed in black running in the neighborhood. Several vehicles were struck by bullets and deputies found numerous spent casings.
Around the same time, calls were received of a white Toyota leaving the area, then backing into a parking area off Classic Court. Two men dressed in black were seen running from the car.
A deputy spotted an individual wearing black running and made contact.
The man, identified as 26-year old Markell Bush of Fort Walton Beach, denied any knowledge of the incident or car, however had the car’s keys in his pocket. Bush said he was visiting a friend but could not provide an address. He was charged with loitering and prowling.
The investigation is continuing.
