Porch Fire Fatality

***UPDATE*** An autopsy has not turned up any evidence of foul play in connection with the discovery of an adult male who was found on fire at an abandoned mobile home yesterday.
There were no signs of trauma to the man’s body other than the burns, and investigators found no evidence of accelerants at the scene. They did discover cigarettes adjacent to the body.
Toxicology results are pending and work is continuing to identify the individual.

Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies responding to a call of a porch fire at an abandoned trailer off Racetrack Road near Fort Walton Beach found a person ablaze and already deceased.
The call came in around 4 a.m. at the site of a vacant trailer on 441 Pinecrest Lane in the Pinecrest Mobile Home Park.
Area residents say homeless people sometimes stayed at the site.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office is assisting with the investigation.
An initial evaluation of the scene did not turn up any accelerants.
The individual’s identity is unknown at this time.
An autopsy has been scheduled for July 9th.
Three OCSO deputies who responded to the scene were treated for smoke inhalation at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center, then released.
Additional information will be presented as warranted.
