The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate a Saturday evening shooting that caused a minor injury to a Shalimar resident. 23-year old Shacori Smith says he was sitting on a car outside his home at 56 3rd Street around ten p.m. when someone drove up across the street and asked another person where Smith was located. Smith says the car then pulled up nearby and a man got out, firing multiple shots at Smith as he ran away. Smith suffered a minor gunshot wound to his left leg. He was treated at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center and released. Smith said he didn’t know the individual or why he was targeted.
