A Holt man who ran from deputies investigating a domestic violence case Friday morning didn’t stay on the loose for long. The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Street Crimes Unit and a K9 team located 29-year old John Fleming Saturday hiding under a couch at his home on Sundance Way.
Fleming was arrested on a charge of felony Violation of Probation, as well as domestic violence battery by strangulation and false imprisonment.
A family member says Fleming had tried to smother and choke her Friday morning, then pulled her back into the room as she tried to escape out a window.
Fleming fled from his home before deputies arrived Friday, sparking an area search. He was located and taken into custody Saturday evening.
