Four teens ranging in age from thirteen to seventeen face numerous charges following a disturbance at a facility on Mar Walt Drive. Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to the Gulf Coast Treatment Center shortly before midnight September 14th. They say four female teens had gone into other juveniles’ rooms in an attempt to incite a riot and organize an escape. The girls are then accused of verbally abusing and physically battering staff members, including pulling a 72-year old registered nurse’s hands off a phone and pushing her into an office.

The juveniles broke the secured center’s door and fled, but all four were located by OCSO deputies and arrested. A thirteen year old, fourteen year old, and two seventeen year olds face charges of causing a riot in a detention facility, battery on detention staff, criminal mischief over $1000 and escape from a residential commitment facility.
