LASSALLE ARREST REPORT
The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office captured and arrested a Texas man last night following an unprovoked knife attack on a stranger at a Destin business.
24-year old Francis Paul Lassalle of Spring Texas is charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
The 20-year old victim from Huntsville Alabama was sitting at a table at AJ’s Seafood and Oyster House on Harbor Boulevard shortly before 11 p.m. when witnesses at the table with him say Lassalle walked up and cut his neck with a knife. They say there had be no altercations or problems with Lassalle prior to the attack.
The victim was taken to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center for treatment.
Lassalle jumped off the second story balcony at AJs to the dock below and walked away. He was taken into custody a short time later at a nearby restaurant. Deputies found a Schrader pocket knife in a pocket of Lassalle’s blue jeans.
When questioned by an OCSO deputy Lassalle said “if I would have stabbed someone, it would have been for taste.” Deputies say Lassalle had a strong odor of alcohol.
