Records

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Records Section is responsible for administering the electronic and written records of the agency in compliance with Florida Statutes and agency policy, as well as providing these records to the public upon request. Duties of the Records staff members include entering and reviewing offense and arrest reports, distributing appropriate records to all pertinent agencies, answering calls and requests from the public and other law enforcement agencies, and entering all pawn transactions from local pawn shops and second hand dealers for comparison against stolen property. Records also maintain all traffic citationss and traffic crashes handled by the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office. The Records Section is comprised of four full time Records Clerks and a Records Supervisor.

Requests for public records can be made in person by phone or by email at recordsrequest@sheriff-okaloosa.org. Most records are provided free of charge, but for lengthy or complex requests or requests requiring in depth research, there may be an hourly fee charged. You may contact the Records Supervisor for an estimate of the cost of any public records before a request is made. All records provided will reflect current public record laws and agency policies in regards to confidentiality of information, such as juvenile and victim information and active investigative information.
