Arrest Reports of Juvenile Car Burglary Defendants

An Okaloosa County Sheriff’s deputy who spotted something suspicious in Mary Esther conducted a traffic stop that led to the recovery of thousands of dollars in stolen property.

It also led to felony car burglary charges against three boys – ages eleven, thirteen, and sixteen.

The deputy spotted two juveniles running behind a closed business on Mary Esther Cut-off shortly before six a.m. July 18th. Once they saw the patrol car, both turned and ran back the other direction towards the Dollar Tree. The deputy then saw a car leaving the parking lot of the Dollar Tree and conducted a traffic top as it did not have its lights on.

After consent to search was given, the deputy found multiple credit cards belonging to different individuals in a backpack along with other apparent stolen items. The defendants are also accused of taking $5450 worth of personal property, including an expensive bicycle, from a car parked at a home on LaFitte Crescent in Fort Walton Beach – then stashing the stolen property at one of their homes.

The three Fort Walton Beach area residents are charged with burglary and grand theft.
