A burglary call at a Fort Walton Beach apartment complex yesterday eventually led to a search warrant that uncovered drugs, firearms, and more than 82-thousand dollars in cash. The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of a burglary to a residence at Madison Parc Apartments, 1851 Stella Lane, Apartment 532 April 21st. Once on scene, evidence of forced entry into the apartment was observed.

During the investigation, members of the Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit obtained a search warrant for the residence as well as a vehicle that arrived on scene. The driver of the vehicle, 25-year old Andres A. Barrios, was identified as the occupant of the apartment as well. A subsequent search of his apartment revealed two pounds of marijuana, two firearms, miscellaneous drug paraphernalia, controlled substances and U.S. Currency totaling $82,373.00. A search of the vehicle revealed approximately 20.5 pounds of additional marijuana along with a stolen firearm.

Barrios is charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, carrying a concealed firearm, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, grand theft of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
