old-annex-training-feb-2014

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office along with other area first responders are going to be conducting a large scale training exercise Thursday, November 17th, at and around the Emerald Coast Convention Center at 1250 Miracle Strip Pkwy on Okaloosa Island.  The exercise will also incorporate Marler Park, located directly behind the convention center, and will run between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Patrons at nearby businesses may hear simulated gunfire and/or explosions and the public will see a significant amount of law enforcement and first responder personnel and equipment in the area.

As a result of this exercise, the immediate areas involved will be restricted to training participants only, however it will NOT impact normal operations and/or scheduled events at the Emerald Coast Convention Center.

The exercise will be similar to one that took place at the old Shalimar Courthouse Annex in February 2014, prior to its destruction to make way for the new county building.
