A man who spotted two suspicious people in the Overbrook subdivision area near Fort Walton Beach took video of their car and now Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office investigators are hoping those images will help catch suspects in a home invasion robbery and aggravated battery.

The 37 year old victim says he was in his home at 806 Melissa Court around 9:15 a.m. today when two Hispanic males armed with guns and a baseball bat came in and demanded cash. He told them he didn’t have money. One of the individuals hit him multiple times with the baseball bat but the victim was not seriously injured. He managed to get the two men to go outside and then yelled for a neighbor to call police.

One suspect was wearing a dark hoody and another had on urban camo clothing. A man in the area who thought the pair seemed suspicious took video of them leaving the neighborhood, unaware of the crimes that had just taken place.

A snapshot from off the video shows what appears to be a Volkswagen Passat. It had no tag on the back and the left front fender is a different color than the rest of the car.

Anyone with information is asked to call the OCSO at 850-651-7400 or Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers at 850-863-TIPS, emeraldcoastcrimestoppers.com or by texting TIP214 plus your message to 274637 (CRIMES).
