The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a woman’s body was found inside a submerged car at Joe’s Bayou Recreation Area in Destin today.
The OCSO Dive Team found the body of 46-year old Cheri Michele Evans of Destin inside the vehicle, a 2011 Ford Fusion. The initial 9-1-1 call reference a car in the water came in around 7 a.m. Friday morning. An autopsy will be conducted by the First District Medical Examiner’s Office.
