REEVES ARREST REPORT

A Laurel Hill resident faces multiple felony charges after he reportedly stabbed another man he was attempting to sexually assault.

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office has charged 21-year old Michael Landis Reeves of 7901 County Road 393 with Aggravated Battery, Armed Attempted Sexual Battery, Attempted Burglary, and Attempted Escape.

Deputies were called to a disturbance at a home on County Road 393 in Laurel Hill around 4:30 a.m. on September 11th.

They discovered that the day before, Reeves had tried to force another man to have sexual intercourse, and then stabbed him in the abdomen with a filet knife when he refused.

The man left and went to a family member’s house for safety. However when he went back to the home on County Road 393 the next morning, he says Reeves made a second attempt. The victim then fled to a neighbor’s house. He says when Reeves followed him, he jabbed Reeves in the stomach with a sledge hammer to fend him off. The neighbor allowed the victim inside the house and Reeves tried to get in as well.

When deputies arrived and placed Reeves in custody a short time later, he tried to lower the window on a patrol car and climb out a rear window.

Deputies say the victim had a puncture wound to the abdomen, along with numerous scratches and bruises. Inside the house that was the scene of the attacks, they also found numerous broken items, along with a knife on a bed.
