A Fort Walton Beach man is accused of trying to force his way into an apartment early this morning while armed with a handgun.
22-year old Kevin Brundidge of 512 Scott Lane is charged with Home Invasion Robbery, Aggravated Battery, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Use of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony, and Resisting Arrest without Violence.
The Okaloosa County Sheriffs’ Office received a 9-1-1 call from a woman who said her boyfriend had been involved in a disturbance at her apartment at 1185 Forest Heights Road near Fort Walton Beach about twenty minutes after midnight. Responding deputies spotted Brundidge running from the scene.
The investigation revealed Brundidge came to the residence with a handgun and tried to force his way inside. When the caller’s boyfriend, Dominick Jones, tried to force Brundidge out, they both fell to the ground and struggled over the gun. The weapon fired one round but no one was hit. Eventually Jones got control of the gun and Brundidge ran from the scene. He was apprehended by responding deputies as he tried to get into a car to escape.
