The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office’s Special Investigations Section launched a narcotics investigation after receiving multiple drug-related complaints in reference to activity at a Destin home.

Today the Unit, which consists of members of the OCSO, Fort Walton Beach Police Department, and Crestview Police Department, executed a search warrant at 206 Snapper Drive Unit 11 in Destin.

A search of the residence revealed prescription medications packaged for distribution, methamphetamine, and paraphernalia.

40-year old Joan Ruud of that address is charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and possession of paraphernalia.

28-year old Preston Stanton, also of that address, had three active felony/misdemeanor arrest warrants and was additionally charged with possession of paraphernalia.

25-year old Karley Murrell, who lives there as well, is charged with possession of methamphetamine.

40-year old Barney Shirah of Destin was issued a Notice to Appear for possession of paraphernalia.
