09/26/2017 – Update: The individual has been identified as 53-year old Charles Farrar of Denham Springs, Louisiana. The Medical Examiner’s Office will be conducting an autopsy.
A tourist in his fifties was pronounced dead at the Destin Emergency Room this afternoon after an apparent drowning.
EMS rushed the man to the E-R after he was found unresponsive in the Gulf of Mexico near the Shirah Beach Access off Scenic Highway 98 around one p.m.
No other information is currently available.
