A suspect in the shooting of an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Deputy has barricaded himself inside a room at the Comfort Inn and Suites at 148 John Sims Parkway in Niceville.
The OCSO and assisting agencies have shut down roadways in that area and are asking the public and all motorists to avoid the area between State Roads 85 and 285.
The man is believed to have shot a deputy outside an attorney’s office on Plew Avenue in Shalimar around 8:20 a.m. this morning. At last word the deputy was in critical condition.
Plew Avenue remains closed as well.
