William Eddins, State Attorney for the First Judicial Circuit, announced today that Tonisha Lache Crowell was indicted Monday by the Okaloosa County Grand Jury on the charges of First Degree Premeditated Murder and/or First Degree Felony Murder and Aggravated Child Abuse. The charges arise from the February 26, 2014 death of an infant child born to Crowell on that date. After the birth, Crowell placed the child in a plastic garbage bag and left the child outside of her home in Fort Walton Beach. Temperatures on that date were less than 50 degrees. Crowell is currently scheduled for trial on September 22, 2014. Any questions can be directed to Assistance State Attorney Robert Elmore at (850) 689-5620.
