A burglary suspect who tried to hide in two feet of tall grass found that wasn’t going to work when an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office K9 is on your track.
43-year old Robert McDonald of 286 Anderson Street in Crestview is now charged with burglary and resisting arrest without violence. It all started Sunday morning when the OCSO received a residential alarm for a home on 2203 3rd Street near Crestview. They found a pickup truck parked near a building on the property and the owner determined more than $5000 in items were missing, including a custom grill, chest full of tools, and wheelbarrow.
Deputy Elliot Howard and K9 “Bady” started a track near the truck and “Bady” quickly focused in on a man hiding in tall grass about five-hundred feet north of the residence. He apprehended the man, identified as McDonald, after McDonald refused commands to show his hands. McDonald was wearing camouflage clothing and gloves when captured.
