Following an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office investigation, a Fort Walton Beach area teen is now charged with making electronic threats to kill or do bodily harm. 15-year old Aubrey Scherf was taken into custody on an active warrant September 13th.

The 12 year old victim had reported September 4th that he was being threatened by Scherf on social media app Snapchat over an incident involving Scherf’s girlfriend.

OCSO Investigators say Scherf sent the victim a photo of herself holding a firearm along with texts to shoot or hurt him after classes ended at Pryor Middle School or outside her apartment. Deputies were able to quickly track down the suspect and search her home. No weapon was located.

Scherf had recently moved back to Okaloosa County from another state and was not actively enrolled in or attending classes in Okaloosa County at the time.

She was turned over to the Department of Juvenile Justice.
