On May 5th, a 10-year old Niceville girl said a man had attempted to coerce her and a friend into a van on two separate occasions within the past couple months in the Blue Pine Village Subdivision in Niceville.
Over the past 24 hours, OCSO Investigators have conducted multiple interviews with victims and witnesses concerning the reported attempted abduction. Additionally, leads submitted by the public were received and vetted. Investigators have determined, based on the interviews, that the attempted abduction report is unfounded. Currently there is no immediate credible threat concerning the information previously reported. OCSO Investigators have not developed a link to the incident on McArthur Ave, reported yesterday to the Fort Walton Beach Police. The public however is reminded to always remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately.
