The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fight that led to a Fort Walton Beach man being attacked with a baseball bat. 36-year old Luke McEwan of 114 Northern Pine Boulevard was taken to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center Saturday night. At last report McEwan was being treated in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.
Deputies had received a call Saturday in reference to speeders in the area and threats made to a homeowner who confronted the drivers. They say sometime before eleven p.m. Saturday night, a group of individuals returned to the area of 115 Northern Pine on foot. The homeowner had armed himself with two bats. A fight broke out and sometime during that altercation, the homeowner was disarmed and McEwan, a neighbor also at the scene, was struck in the head with the bat.
