OCSO School Resource Officers are spearheading a fundraiser to benefit disadvantaged youngsters who attend a special summer camp to have a fun-filled week and learn leadership skills. Okaloosa SRO’s attend the Florida Sheriff’s Youth Ranch “Camp Caruth” each summer to serve as counselors. Up to eighty boys and girls between the ages of ten and fifteen get a chance to canoe, ride bikes, play games, do community service, and practice teambuilding.
Last year Okaloosa SRO’s donated bicycles to the kids. This year their goal is to get canoes for the campers and fill them with life jackets, athletic equipment, and athletic shoes. Bass Pro Shops is partnering with OCSO Youth Services to provide canoes at reduced prices. So far three have been purchased thanks to donations from Legacy/Harborwalk Village, the Niceville High School Leadership Club, and the OCSO SRO’s!

HARBOR WALK VILLAGE
- Saturday April 5th from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Margaritaville Lottery Ticket Launch
- Thursday, April 24th from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. as part of Finest Food on the Emerald Coast
- Saturday, May 3rd from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday, May 4th as part of the Cinco De Mayo Festival
CROSSFIT ABOVE THE BAR
- Saturday, April 26th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 102 Racetrack Rd. Unit B
