A bicyclist killed when she was struck by a pick-up truck near the intersection of Highway 98 and Vinings Way in Destin has been identified as a 20-year old from Bangkok Thailand.
Investigators say Parichat Chatmas of 251 Vinings Way was trying to cross Highway 98 around 7 a.m. this morning when she was hit by a man driving a Ford F-150. She was taken to Sacred Heart Hospital of the Emerald Coast where she was pronounced dead around 8 a.m.
Investigators say Chatmas was here on a J-1 Cultural Exchange Visa and had just arrived from Thailand March 14th. She was on her way to work at a McDonalds in South Walton County when the accident took place. It remains under investigation. No charges have been filed at this time.
