School Resource Officer Deputy James Reeves says he received a call from a school administrator today informing him a student on campus was in possession of a loaded firearm and intended to commit suicide with the weapon.

The teen was immediately removed from his classroom and relocated to an administrator’s office where he admitted he had a loaded firearm in his backpack. Deputy Reeves found a black revolver loaded with four rounds. The 17-year old student was charged with possession of a firearm on school property and remanded to the custody of the Department of Juvenile Justice.
