Update: PLANE DEBRIS LOCATED OFFSHORE OF DESTIN
The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office confirms an extensive amount of debris connected to the crash has been located in the waters off the coast of Destin between Henderson Beach State Park and the Walton County line.
First responders are on the scene on both land and water. The search for possible survivors continues.

Witnesses reported seeing or hearing a small plane crash into the Gulf of Mexico off the area of Henderson Beach State Recreation Area in Destin tonight. The first 9-1-1 call was received at 6:52 p.m. from a runner on the beach.
The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, Coast Guard, area firefighters, and others have been searching the area from the state park to the Walton County line. Investigators say a plane has been reported overdue at the Destin Airport.
