Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies responding to a call of shots fired in the Auburn community near Crestview overnight made contact with three teens in the area, leading to burglary and grand theft charges against the trio.
Residents in the Autumn Woods subdivision reported gunfire and the sound of cars racing around 2:30 this morning.
There were also reports of multiple vehicle burglaries.
Responding deputies made contact with Crestview area residents 20-year old Jailin Martin, 18-year old Grady Sutton, and 16-year old Daniel Johnson directly outside the neighborhood.
Johnson admitted burglarizing a vehicle on Autumn Woods Drive with Martin and Sutton, saying they were armed with a rifle at the time.
All three are now charged with armed burglary and grand theft.
The shots fired and reported burglaries are believed to be connected.
The investigation is ongoing.
