William Eddins, State Attorney for the First Judicial Circuit, announced today that Lloyd Dale Shannon, Jr. was sentenced to 20 years in the Department of Corrections. Shannon was arrested in October, 2013 and charged with 10 counts of Possessing Child Pornography.
An investigation began in August, 2013 after Agents with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement were able to download images of child pornography being offered for sharing on the internet by the defendant. A search warrant was executed in October, 2013 leading to the arrest of the defendant. The Honorable John T. Brown imposed the 20 year sentence after the defendant entered a plea of no contest to the charges. He will also be required to register as a Sex Offender.
The investigation was conducted by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement with assistance from the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office. The case was prosecuted by Assistant State Attorney Jennifer Lieb.
