PROCLAMATION

A Proclamation Declaring June 7 through June 13 2015 As “Sheriff’s Office Volunteer’s Week”

WHEREAS, members of the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Uniformed Posse volunteered over 18,600 hours of community service during 2014, often under grueling and dangerous conditions; and

WHEREAS, civilian volunteers at the Sheriff’s Office have volunteered over 4280 hours of community service during 2014, enabling and enhancing the efficient operation of numerous crime prevention and community service programs vital to our county’s welfare; and

WHEREAS, volunteer Chaplains at the Sheriff’s Office have volunteered over 2430 hours during 2014, nurturing and ensuring the spiritual welfare of Deputies and civilian staff at the Sheriff’s Office; and

WHEREAS, the Sheriff’s Mounted Posse volunteered over 1250 hours of community service during 2014, enabling and enhancing the efficient operation of numerous crime prevention and community service programs vital to our county’s welfare; and

WHEREAS, the vast majority of the community service programs offered at the Sheriff’s Office would not be possible without the selfless dedication s of these volunteers and;

WHEREAS, every citizen of Okaloosa County has benefited greatly from the efforts and contributions of these volunteers and;

WHEREAS, Sheriff Ashley acknowledges the service of these volunteers has enhanced the ability of the Sheriff’s Office to serve and protect our citizens.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Board of Commissioners of Okaloosa County, Florida that June 7 through June 13 2015 be proclaimed

Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Volunteer Week.
