The discovery of a young child running nude in the area of Green Acres Road and Green Acres Boulevard around 9 a.m. yesterday morning ultimately led to the arrest of two people on five counts of child neglect.
Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Deputies spotted the boy running across four lanes of traffic and nearly getting hit by vehicles, but were able to get him to safety. The child was found to be covered in his own feces. They cleaned him and wrapped him in a towel.
Deputies recognized the boy and took him to a home near Fort Walton Beach, where they spotted another nude child running around nearby. The second child also had feces on his body.
OCSO Deputies and an Investigator found deplorable conditions throughout the residence, as well as prescription medications within reach of a total of five children, all under the age of 12.
The OCSO has charged 34-year old Danielle Roberson and 32-year old Jacob Roberson with five counts of child neglect.
The Department of Children and Families is also investigating.
