Two Holt residents have been charged with burglary and two thefts in the Laurel Hill area of north Okaloosa County. Investigators say 25-year old Travis Monroe Adams of 220 West Highway 90 and 21-year old Myra Ellen King first went to a home at 7838 North State Road 85 around 3:45 p.m. July 13th and stole two flat screen televisions. The pair took the TV’s to another home in Laurel Hill and placed them on the back porch.
Approximately two hours later deputies say Adams and King were in a blue Chevy Avalanche heading north in Laurel Hill and stopped in front of a home at 7344 North State Road 85. They entered the gated front yard and removed a brown pit bull dog named “Harley” and put him in the cab of the truck. The owner also used social media to help publicize the theft in an effort to get back her dog.
Officers with the Crestview Police Department spotted the suspect vehicle July 14th at a Crestview convenience store and OCSO Investigators arrived. Adams and King were charged with burglary and two counts of theft. The stolen televisions and pet were returned to the rightful owners.
