Murder Supsect Killed in Officer Involved Shooting

A suspect in a Fort Walton Beach murder located by Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies died Tuesday afternoon in an officer-involved shooting.

Deputies say the suspect, 27-year old Clyde Jacob Sullivan, pulled a gun after they boxed him in with their vehicles.

Sullivan was spotted by deputies following a BOLO sent out by the Fort Walton Beach Police Department in connection to a woman being shot and killed outside a business on Walter Martin Boulevard a short time earlier.

They saw him on Timberlake Trailhead Road off Lewis Turner Boulevard, where deputies positioned their cars so he could not escape. He was shot after pulling a firearm and pointing it towards a deputy.

Per standard protocol, the deputies involved in the incident will be placed on administrative leave with pay pending an administrative review.

The Fort Walton Beach Police Department is handling the investigation into the initial shooting.

A joint news conference with the OCSO and FWB PD will take place tomorrow at one p.m. at OCSO Headquarters in Shalimar.
