An autopsy by the District One Medical Examiner’s Office today concluded there was no foul play in the death of a homeless man whose body was discovered yesterday morning near a wooded lot in Destin. Toxicology reports are pending.
Deputies responded to the area near 1021 U.S. Highway 98 around 9 a.m. after someone found the body near woods, on a path frequented by homeless individuals.
The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office opted to investigate the scene as suspicious due to the body’s decomposition, which made it difficult to determine if the man had suffered any type of trauma.
The man is identified as 59-year old Lawrence Koski of no known address.
