A Niceville man who say he pulled over on Racetrack Road while experiencing car trouble was approached by an armed robber, not a Good Samaritan. The victim says he pulled into a convenience store at 213 Racetrack Road around one a.m. this morning after his car started “acting strange”. When he stopped to check it out, a man opened his passenger door with a gun in his hand and demanded he drive him into an area around Bob Sikes Boulevard. Once at a dead end, he says the man demanded his money and phone, then fled. The victim drove to the Whataburger on Mary Esther Cut-Off to get a security guard to call law enforcement.
The robber is described as a black male in his early to mid 20’s. He says he was wearing a black flat-billed cap with something red on it, a black hoodie, and long black shorts.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office at 850-651- 7400 or Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers at 850-863-TIPS.
