A 22-year old beach umbrella attendant on Okaloosa Island died this afternoon after being struck by lightning.
Emergency responders were called to a condo on Santa Rosa Boulevard around 3:11 p.m. after receiving calls of bystanders performing CPR on the young man.
He was taken to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
A witness says the victim was about 20 feet from the water when he was struck.
