Deputy Javonnia Peak and Sgt. Joe Milonas were working enforcement on Interstate 10 around 9:30 this morning when a stop was conducted for a traffic offense involving 47-year old Carolyn Satterfield of Crestview.

During a consensual search of her vehicle, Sgt Milonas located a “Hide a Can” where methamphetamine, prescription pills, and marijuana were hidden inside.

Numerous unopened vape pens as well as over $800 worth of lottery tickets were located in the vehicle as well. Satterfield works at the Shell gas station in Freeport. The owner was contacted and advised Satterfield is a suspect in the theft of the items last night and the Walton County Sheriff’s Office has been contacted in reference to the incident.

Satterfield was taken to the Okaloosa County Jail and charged with possession of controlled substance (2 counts), possession of marijuana under 20 grams, possession of a new legend drug, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of electronic weapon by a convicted felon, and felony violation of probation.
