Xavier “Jamar” Boyers
A Fort Walton Beach teen used a baseball bat to rescue his mother from a man she says entered her bedroom and sexually assaulted her early this morning.
The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office today charged 24-year old Xavier Jamar Boyers of 23 Maples Street with burglary with assault or battery and sexual battery on a person physically incapacitated.
The female victim says she sleeping and woke up at her home on Colton Way around 4 a.m. to a man in her bed saying things in her ear and sexually assaulting her. She began screaming and her son came into the room with a baseball bat. The juvenile began striking the suspect with the bat and yelling for him to get out.
The man fled the house but was spotted by a neighbor who had heard the disturbance. OCSO investigators developed Boyers as a suspect. The victim later picked him out of a photographic lineup as her attacker.
Boyers claims the woman had invited him over but investigators say he had no evidence to back up his claim.
