An aggravated battery suspect who initially refused to come out of his Destin home despite orders from Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies was eventually tased and taken into custody.
53-year old Alexander Ratikan of Sibert Avenue is charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and resisting an officer without violence.
Deputies were called to his home March 1st. The victim says Ratikan shoved her down into a hallway, causing her to hit her head and black out. She says when she regained consciousness, Ratikan was standing over her with a knife cutting her neck. Deputies observed lacerations to her neck consistent with cuts from a knife.
Video footage from Ratikan’s bedroom shows the victim being grabbed and thrown out the door into the hallway. He denies using a knife to batter her.
