In conjunction with the City of Destin, the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office conducted a DUI Safety Checkpoint March 21st. Deputies say 42 cars passed through the checkpoint on Legion Drive between the designated hours of 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. Three citations were issued: Driving Under the Influence, Knowingly Driving With a Suspended or Revoked Driver’s License, and Not Having a Driver’s License. In addition, twelve warnings were issued for violations ranging from inoperable tail lights to seat belt violations.
